Guides & Sources

Lame-o title, sorry. Here are just some of the sites I hang on to from my tingling toes to the tips of my fingers -- basic lessons, techniques and free! free! FREE! sheet music:

8 Notes. Music theory for dummies like me. Sheet music for guitar and all sorts of instruments. What I love about this site is it rates the pieces according to difficulty. Midi, MP3, PDFs, GIFs files, the works for all types of readers are available. Limited collection, but great for beginners.

Classical Guitar. Interviews from the greats and getting-theres. Perfect place to fangirl after guitarists. Plus valuable tips on aesthetics, techniques and everything in between. If you love reading, you'll love this site.

Guitarist. A few sheet music, but encompassing a range of sounds. Really basic stuff. This was my jumping board during the first few months.

LVS Solo Guitar Music. Free basic OPM sheets (think Bahay Kubo, Leron Leron Sinta, etc.) mixed with a few popular tunes.

The Guitar School. Collection of free scores from all the greats. Plus guitar methods and studies for beginners and advanced playing. For self-taught players like me who are hungry for a methodology, here's one by Eythorsson. Very big library. Go PDF-download crazy!
